Location: Milton Keynes
Job Description:

Fullers Family Law, an Investors in People Gold Award firm, is looking for a Junior Paralegal to join our Milton Keynes team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already has experience working within family law and genuinely enjoys communicating with clients. You’ll be speaking regularly with potential new clients, often at a difficult or emotional point in their lives. Being a confident, articulate and adaptable verbal communicator is therefore essential.

Who Are We?

At Fullers Family Law, it is not just about the job, it is about a way of life. We are looking for people who want to learn, grow and develop with us.

We genuinely care about the experience we give our clients. People often come to us at one of the most difficult and emotional points in their lives, and the way we communicate with them matters.

We look for people who enjoy helping others, take pride in delivering exceptional service and understand the importance of making people feel heard, reassured and confident that they have come to the right place.

Our mission is to invest in you, supporting your development and job satisfaction whilst maintaining your work-life harmony.

About the Role

As a Junior Paralegal, you will play an important part in the experience of our potential new clients.

A significant element of the role involves speaking with people over the telephone, listening to their circumstances and helping them understand how Fullers may be able to support them.

Every conversation is different and they will not always follow a predictable path. You will need to be comfortable thinking on your feet, finding the right words in the moment and adapting how you communicate depending on the client and situation.

You will be involved in:

  • Speaking with potential new clients, listening carefully to their story and understanding their circumstances.
  • Building trust and rapport through warm, confident and professional communication.
  • Providing reassurance to clients who may be experiencing difficult or emotional circumstances.
  • Keeping conversations focused and confidently guiding them forward, while ensuring clients feel heard and understood.
  • Completing administrative tasks and providing support to our solicitors.

Who Are We Looking For?

There are a few things that are particularly important for this role.

You’ll need:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the confidence to speak professionally and naturally with clients over the telephone.
  • Strong verbal agility, with the ability to articulate information clearly, adapt your language and find different ways to explain or reframe something depending on the client and situation.
  • The ability to build rapport quickly, listen carefully and provide reassurance, particularly when someone may be upset or experiencing difficult circumstances.
  • The ability to think on your feet, respond confidently to unexpected questions and keep a conversation focused while ensuring the client feels heard. Previous experience working within a family law firm and speaking directly with family law clients.
  • Strong written communication, attention to detail and a proactive, client-focused approach.

We aren’t looking for someone who has all the answers. We’ll provide training, support and plenty of opportunity to develop. What we do need from the outset is someone who is comfortable speaking with clients and has the verbal confidence and adaptability this role requires.

Why Join Fullers?

  • Work for a firm that holds Investors in People Gold accreditation and values and develops its employees.
  • Structured career progression with mentoring and training support.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A collaborative, supportive and professional working environment.
  • Support through SQE1 and SQE2 and development in the competencies you will need as you progress towards becoming a solicitor.
