Overview
In this role you will support the EY Global Grants Credits & Incentives team in London, applying your software and engineering insight to identify R&D activities eligible for tax relief. You’ll lead interviews with senior technical staff, craft detailed technical reports, and help clients translate complex projects into compliance-ready claims. You’ll work with cross-functional teams on business development and multi-sector claims, contributing to a growing R&D tax capability. This is a hands-on role with a clear impact on clients and the firm’s advisory offering.

Responsibilities
- Lead interviews with senior and lead technical personnel to identify eligible R&D aspects
- Write compelling technical project reports highlighting key factors for R&D tax relief
- Interact with clients’ senior technical staff to understand projects and map to R&D guidelines
- Perform data analysis and calculations to quantify eligible project expenditure
- Provide high-quality advisory delivery while managing risk and protecting reputation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to business development across sectors
- Adapt knowledge to different industries and build core capabilities
- Maintain strong client relationships and deliver excellent service
Key requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development, or closely related discipline
- Experience in computer science or software development, preferably in industry
- Previous experience with software R&D claims is advantageous
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Collaborative approach to management and fast adaptability in a dynamic environment
