We’re recruiting for an established, internationally operating construction technology and software business looking to strengthen its presence across the UK, Ireland and European markets.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a significant sales territory, develop new business relationships and introduce innovative software solutions that are helping engineering, surveying, infrastructure and construction organisations transform the way they manage projects, information and digital workflows.

The business provides specialist software solutions supporting BIM, Common Data Environments (CDE), engineering information management, document control and digital collaboration across complex engineering and construction projects.

You’ll work closely with an international sales and technical team, with considerable autonomy to develop your territory, identify opportunities and build long-term commercial relationships.

Although the role covers Europe, the primary focus will be developing business across the UK and Ireland – Linear projects, Road, Rail, Tunnel, Civil Design, significant earth movement.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hands-on, consultative new business sales role, combining strategic territory development with direct customer engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • New Business Development: Identify, develop and close new business opportunities across engineering consultancies, construction businesses, surveying organisations and infrastructure companies.
  • Territory Management: Take ownership of the UK, Ireland and European sales territory, developing and executing a structured business development strategy.
  • Consultative Solution Selling: Understand customers’ technical and commercial challenges, demonstrating how software solutions can improve productivity, collaboration, information management and project delivery.
  • Pipeline Development: Generate your own opportunities through targeted prospecting, networking, industry events, referrals and strategic account engagement.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Manage complex B2B software sales opportunities from initial engagement and discovery through demonstrations, proposals, negotiations and contract closure.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with senior decision-makers, engineering directors, digital engineering teams, BIM managers, project leaders and commercial stakeholders.
  • Partner Development: Establish and strengthen relationships with technology partners, resellers and industry stakeholders.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent the business at relevant industry exhibitions, conferences and international events.
  • Sales Forecasting: Maintain accurate pipeline reporting, sales forecasts and customer engagement records using CRM tools such as Salesforce.
  • International Collaboration: Work alongside global sales, marketing and technical specialists to develop opportunities and support customer adoption.

What We’re Looking For

We’re particularly interested in candidates who can combine commercial sales capability with an understanding of technical software solutions or the construction and engineering industries.

There are two potential routes into this opportunity.

Option 1 – Experienced Technical Software Sales Professional

You’ll ideally bring:

  • At least 4 years’ experience in B2B technical software, SaaS or solution sales.
  • A proven track record of generating new business and managing a sales pipeline.
  • Experience selling complex solutions involving multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles.
  • Strong consultative selling skills, including discovery, solution positioning, commercial negotiation and closing.
  • Experience developing territory plans and managing customer relationships.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, ideally HubSpot.
  • Exposure to engineering, construction, infrastructure, geospatial or related technology markets would be particularly advantageous.

Option 2 – Engineering, Surveying or Digital Construction Professional

We would also welcome applications from individuals with a strong technical industry background who are interested in developing a career in commercial software sales.

Relevant experience could include:

  • Consulting Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • Digital Engineering and BIM
  • Construction Information Management
  • Common Data Environments (CDE)
  • Land Surveying, Geospatial Technology or GIS
  • Engineering Design, CAD or Digital Construction Software
  • Infrastructure Project Delivery

You’ll need to be commercially minded, confident engaging with customers and genuinely motivated to develop new business.

Previous sales experience would be beneficial, but strong technical credibility, communication skills and a proactive approach could be equally valuable.

The Person

We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, understanding complex customer challenges and turning opportunities into commercial success.

You’ll be:

  • Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working independently.
  • Confident developing relationships with technical and senior commercial stakeholders.
  • A strong communicator who can explain technical solutions in clear business terms.
  • Comfortable prospecting and generating your own leads, rather than relying solely on inbound enquiries.
  • Organised and commercially disciplined, with a structured approach to managing sales opportunities.
  • Curious about emerging technology and the changing digital engineering landscape.
  • Comfortable travelling within the UK and internationally when required.

Most importantly, you’ll understand that successful technical software sales is about solving genuine business problems, not simply selling software licences.

What’s On Offer?

  • Car package
  • Realistic Year 1 OTE of £70,000+, with further earning potential through commission
  • Home-based / remote working across the UK
  • Occasional visits to the London office
  • Ownership of the UK, Ireland and European territory
  • International travel, including an annual trip to Australia and attendance at industry exhibitions in Europe and the USA
  • Support from an established international sales, marketing and technical team
  • Opportunity to work with innovative technology used across engineering, construction and infrastructure projects
  • Considerable autonomy and the opportunity to influence regional sales strategy

Interested?

If you’re an experienced technical software sales professional, or someone from an engineering, surveying or digital construction background looking to move into a commercially focused role, we’d welcome a conversation.

Interviews are planned for late November 2026, with an anticipated start in early 2027.
