Silks Luxury Lifestyle is recruiting a highly experienced Weekend Nanny for a lovely private family in Oxshott, Surrey. This weekend nanny position involves caring for two very young children, a newborn baby and a toddler under two, so strong and recent newborn experience is essential.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a warm, confident and highly capable Nanny who genuinely loves working with babies and toddlers. The family is looking for someone who can provide calm, knowledgeable care for their newborn while also bringing plenty of energy and enthusiasm to their toddler’s weekend.
The position can be offered on a daily live-out basis or with the option to stay overnight at the family home during the weekend.
The Weekend Nanny will provide attentive, hands-on care for both children and work closely with the parents to ensure their weekends run smoothly.
You must be completely confident caring for a newborn, including feeding, settling, sleep routines, changing, bathing and general baby care.
The family also has a toddler under two, so they are looking for someone energetic, engaging and proactive who enjoys play, outdoor activities, walks and age-appropriate outings.
The ability to confidently balance the very different needs of a newborn baby and an active toddler will be particularly important.
- Provide attentive and nurturing care for a newborn baby and toddler
- Support newborn feeding, settling and sleep routines
- Prepare bottles and sterilise feeding equipment as required
- Manage changing, bathing, dressing and general baby care
- Prepare healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks for the toddler
- Plan stimulating and developmentally appropriate activities
- Take the children for walks, outdoor activities and age-appropriate outings
- Maintain children’s bedrooms, play areas and belongings
- Manage children’s laundry and nursery organisation
- Keep everything required for the children organised and well stocked
- Work closely and confidently with the parents
- Adapt to the family’s weekend plans and routines
- Provide calm, capable and reliable support throughout the weekend
Strong and recent newborn experience is essential for this position.
The successful Nanny will have an excellent understanding of newborn care and be confident with feeding, winding, settling, sleep patterns and the day-to-day needs of a very young baby.
Alongside this, you will need plenty of energy and enthusiasm for an active toddler. The family would love someone who enjoys engaging with young children and naturally creates a happy, stimulating and nurturing environment.
The Ideal Weekend Nanny
You will be an experienced, warm and nurturing professional who is naturally confident around very young children.
You should be calm and reassuring with the newborn while energetic, playful and engaging with the toddler. Excellent judgement, initiative and the ability to anticipate what needs doing will be important.
