What you’ll bedoing:
As Head of StrategicEngineering and Architectures, you will deliver technical,engineering and architectural leadership across BAE Systemsmaritime mission systems portfolio. As a driver of our engineeringresponse to the Royal Navy’s Hybrid Navy strategy, you will defineand lead the enterprisearchitecture vision, ensuring solutions are product-coherent,future-ready, operationally relevant, and align with customer andbusiness needs Working closely with customers, programmes andindustry partners, you will champion innovation, shapetechnology roadmaps and deliver modular, scalable force-enabled mission systemarchitectures that support future naval capability and secureexport success.
Coreduties:
- Define andlead enterprise missionsystem architectures and candidate design solutionsacross maritime platforms and programmes.
- Oversee integration of combat, sensor, communications,platform and autonomoussystem capabilities.
- Provide strategictechnical authority, governance and assurance for architecturaldecisions andreviews.
- Drive innovation in openarchitectures, digital engineering, AI, autonomy, and emergingtechnologies.
- Influence customers, partnersand suppliers to align strategic architecturaldirection.
- Lead and developmultidisciplinary architecture and systems engineering teams,periodically deputising for the Chief Engineer
Essentialskills:
- A degree inEngineering (or a related subject) or relevant field experience.Full membership of an Engineering Council accredited institutionand be a Chartered Engineer.
- An accomplishedengineering leader witha deep understanding of the defence operational context andextensive experience in system-of-systems & data architectures,model-based frameworks, digital engineering and complex systemsintegration.
- Strong collaborating andinfluencing skills to build positive, effective and trustedrelationships across all engineering disciplines with customers,partners, suppliers and the wider business.

Within the dynamic anddiverse Naval Ships Combat Systems business you’ll lead a highly skilled team ofarchitects, systems engineers and integration specialists shapingthe future of maritime mission systems as we rise to the very realglobal threat. You will work across all programmes (Royal Navy andinternational), functions and with external partners, to deliverinnovative, cross-domain mission-critical solutions that exceedcustomer expectations and drive engineering excellence across theBAE Systems enterprise.
