Pharmacy Assistant

Join the friendly team at Allied Pharmacy on Hessle Road as a Pharmacy Assistant, where you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality care and service to our local community. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys helping people, working as part of a close-knit team and making a real difference to customers’ everyday health and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers into the pharmacy and provide friendly, helpful service at the counter
• Assist with the safe and accurate dispensing of prescriptions under the supervision of the pharmacist
• Handle over-the-counter sales and offer advice on common medicines within your scope of training
• Manage stock, including ordering, receiving deliveries, checking expiry dates and keeping shelves well presented
• Maintain accurate records and support the smooth day-to-day running of the pharmacy
• Uphold patient confidentiality and follow all relevant health, safety and regulatory standards

What we’re looking for

• A warm, approachable manner and a genuine commitment to customer care
• Good communication skills and the ability to listen carefully and respond with empathy
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical, reliable approach to your work
• The ability to work well within a team and stay calm during busy periods
• Previous experience in a pharmacy or retail healthcare setting is desirable, though full training will be provided
• Willingness to work towards a recognised pharmacy qualification if not already held
