We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Treatment Technical Lead Therapeutic Radiographer to join our radiotherapy team at UHCW.
This is an exciting Band 8a opportunity for an experienced Band 7 radiographer to provide expert clinical and technical leadership within the treatment area.

Main duties of the job
You will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, treatment accuracy and clinical practice, while supporting and developing our radiotherapy team.
You will lead on the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, equipment and ways of working.
You will provide expert advice on complex treatments, support clinical decision-making, contribute to quality assurance and service improvement, and work closely with our multidisciplinary teams.
You will also have the opportunity to deputise for the Head of Radiotherapy and contribute to service modernisation and strategic development.
We are looking for an experienced, forward-thinking and technically expert therapeutic radiographer who can provide strong clinical leadership while driving innovation, service development and new technology.
The successful candidate will have extensive clinical experience, with broad knowledge of radiotherapy equipment, treatment techniques, imaging and patient care, alongside a strong understanding of IR(ME)R, clinical governance, quality and risk management.
You will be a confident and inspirational leader, able to develop staff, manage change and foster a culture of learning, improvement and innovation.

Job responsibilities
- As a Technical Clinical Lead, you will have day-to-day responsibility for the processes, staff and specialist equipment within your designated area.
- You will provide expert clinical and technical leadership within the treatment area, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, treatment accuracy and clinical practice, while supporting and developing the radiotherapy team.
- You will provide expert advice on complex treatments, contribute to clinical decision-making and work closely with our multidisciplinary teams to deliver a safe, effective and high-quality radiotherapy service.
- As an experienced leader, you will coach and develop colleagues, support teams through change and contribute to the education and professional development of staff and students.
- A key aspect of the role will be the development of the technical service, leading the evaluation, selection and implementation of new technologies, equipment and procedures.
- You will lead and support changes in clinical practice in response to service needs, technological developments and emerging best practice, ensuring these are implemented effectively in line with Clinical Governance requirements and the Oncology Quality Management System.
- This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our radiotherapy service, contributing to service modernisation, innovation and strategic development.
- You will also deputise for the Head of Radiotherapy as required and play an important role in supporting the continued development of our service.
- As a department that provides clinical placements to students and apprentices, you will also contribute to the organisation, supervision and assessment of student radiographers.
