JobDescription:
This role centres onunderstanding complex customer needs and translating them intoclear, multi‑level requirements. It involves developing advancedsystem architectures using Model‑Based Systems Engineering andoverseeing the integration, analysis and testing of real‑timesystems that combine electronic, mechanical, optical and softwareelements. Accountability for collaborative technical work packagesis key, ensuring outcomes align with customerexpectations.
Alongside technicaldelivery, the role includes verifying that solutions fully satisfycustomer needs and guiding or coaching other engineers tostrengthen team capability. It also drives the development of newand improved systems by applying best‑practice lifecycle processesand modern approaches such as Learn First and Agile, ensuringefficient, high‑quality systemevolution.
Coreduties:
- Understanding our customers’complex needs and collaborating to develop, validate and managerequirements at multiplelevels
- Developing complex systemarchitectures and sub-systems using a Model Based SystemsEngineering approach
- Being involved in theIntegration, analysis and test of real time systems containingmultiple technical disciplines such as electronic, mechanical,optical and softwaresub-systems
- Taking accountability forcollaborative technical work package execution and associatedoutcomes and providing guidance, coaching and nurturing talent inother engineers
EssentialSkills:
- A degree or equivalentexperience in a relevant Scientific/Engineering subject (e.g.,Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics orMathematics)
- Proven experience inrequirements management, design analyses, modelling and simulation,using tools such as DOORS, Siemens Polarion, Enterprise Architect,MATLAB and/or Simulink and design methodologies such asSysML
Customer and/or supplierliaison experience for technical aspects, verifying and obtainingagreement that customer needs aresatisfied
- It is desirable that youwill have experience in integration, test, and verification of realtime and/or safety related systems, with understanding of safetyassessment processes including how these processes influence thedesign
The SystemsEngineeringTeam:
You’ll be part of thedevelopment and supply of products across a diverse mix ofcommercial and military platforms; Head Up and Head Worn Displays,Safety Critical Pilot Control and Flight Control Systems. Weencourage our Systems Engineers to gain a breadth of knowledgeacross these domains to become subject matter experts in one ormore product domain, or systems engineeringspecialism.
