Position Summary
Pro Search Recruitment is actively seeking experienced Fibre Engineers to support ongoing FTTP rollout and fibre network deployment projects across multiple UK locations. Detailed Job Description
As a Fibre Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality FTTP installation and fibre network build activities across residential and business environments. You will work on overhead and underground fibre infrastructure, ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to industry standards. The successful candidate will perform customer installations, network build activities, testing, fault resolution, and service activation tasks while maintaining excellent customer service and operational quality. This position offers long-term work, strong earning potential, company-provided equipment, and the opportunity to work on major UK fibre deployment programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out FTTP installation and fibre network build activities.
- Install, terminate, test, and commission fibre optic services.
- Perform overhead and underground fibre deployment work.
- Conduct fibre fault investigation and resolution activities.
- Complete customer installations and service activations.
- Follow health and safety procedures when working at height and within field environments.
- Ensure installations meet quality and operational standards.
- Use industry-standard fibre testing and troubleshooting equipment.
- Maintain accurate installation records and completion documentation.
- Deliver excellent customer service during site visits and installations.
- Support network build and expansion projects across assigned locations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proven telecommunications experience within Fibre or FTTP environments.
- Experience performing FTTP installations and fibre network build activities.
- Strong understanding of fibre installation standards and best practices.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service abilities.
- Must reside within or close to one of the hiring locations.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Openreach fibre experience.
- CityFibre project experience.
- Fibre splicing and testing experience.
- PIA, overhead, and underground network deployment experience.
- NRSWA accreditation.
- SA001, SA002, SA006, SA008 certifications.
- Experience working within telecom field operations environments.
