Early Childhood and Play Advisory Officer

About the role:

The role of the Early Childhood and Play Advisory Officer involves working within a team of Early Years specialist advisors and childcare development officers, supporting and challenging providers, who offer funded Flying Start and regulated childcare provision and to assist them in continuously improving the quality of the play, learning, and care they offer to ensure better outcomes for children.

About you:

• Passion to support the continued development of excellent high quality childcare and play provision for children in Powys.
• Strong commitment to working with children and young people, parents, providers and other professionals to promote social inclusion and good quality services.
• A passion to strive towards positive outcomes for all children and families
• Experience of working in a childcare setting, in a senior capacity.
• Experience of working with children with a range of emerging and additional learning needs

What you will do:

Provide impactful consultation, advice, support and challenge to assigned Flying Start and childcare providers on a broad range of matters including, but not limited to:

• leadership and management
• learning environments
• curriculum and pedagogy
• observation and assessment
• inclusive practice
• the joint Estyn/CIW inspection framework
