SOC Analyst

• Lead shifts throughout 24/7 SOC service delivery




• Provide oversight and management to Junior Analysts




• Monitor systems for security alerts, intrusions, or unauthorised, unexpected, or illegal activity




• Respond to incidents using a catalogue of playbooks




• Escalate complex incidents to Tier 2 Incident Response Teams




• Review and develop security controls in line with the evolving technical environment




• Triage and review vulnerability scanning reports and feed results back to technical teams




• Review secure configurations and provide remediation feedback to technical teams




• Generate recurring service and security reports for key stakeholders




• Provide service improvement ideas to the SOC Manager




• Keep up to date with the latest security threats and trends




• Research and develop understanding of security as a discipline

Requirements

• Previous experience in Security, SOC or related technical field




• Focus on Incident Management




• Focus on Vulnerability Management




• Relevant qualification(s) in Cyber Security, or other related technical roles




• Knowledge of key concepts of Cloud Computing




• Knowledge of Security Incident Management




• Knowledge of Risk Management




• Knowledge of Information Security (CIA)




• Knowledge of phishing, ransomware and other key threats




• Knowledge of IDAM (Identity and Access Management)




• Knowledge of JML (Joiners, Movers and Leavers Processes)




• Knowledge of Security Awareness




• Knowledge of Information Classification




• Strong problem-solving ability




• Must have or be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance

Demonstrates expertise in Security Operations Center (SOC) management, incident response, and vulnerability management, with a strong focus on developing security controls and improving service delivery. Possesses knowledge of cloud computing, risk management, and information security principles, along with the ability to lead and mentor junior analysts.
