Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist Band 7 (Education)
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our Children’s Community SLT Service, across Lambeth and Southwark, with a focus on Schools/Colleges.
Our team are involved in delivering high-quality services for children and young people (CYP) with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). Working with other leaders, you will shape and implement initiatives within settings, while developing your own leadership and expertise.
This role needs to influence practice beyond an individual caseload, working with schools, local authorities and the MDT to strengthen inclusive practice, promoting early identification and intervention.
You will contribute to the evolution of our universal, targeted and specialist offer, including Expert-at-Hand, helping schools and practitioners build confidence and capability in supporting CYP with SLCN.
This post holds a caseload, requiring strong clinical reasoning and decision-making to assess and support CYP.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing highly specialist, autonomous clinical case management for complex needs
- Leading projects, training and service development within your specialist area
- Providing line management, supervision and mentoring to junior colleagues and students
- Advising local authorities, education staff and multi-disciplinary colleagues
- Leading team-wide initiatives on service quality and effectiveness
What We’re Looking For
- HCPC registration and substantial specialist paediatric experience
- Proven leadership, negotiation and mentoring skills
- Experience contributing to service and policy development
- A genuine passion for raising standards and developing others
