Paralegal – Residential Conveyancing

  • Salary: £25,000 – £30,000

We are seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join our clients Residential Conveyancing Department. This role involves a blend of administrative responsibilities, ensuring the efficient delivery of legal services. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of effectively coordinating between clients and internal teams.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Fee-Earning and Casework:

    • Assist with fee-earning activities under supervision, managing own caseload where possible.
    • Draft legal documents and correspondence.
    • Review and organize documents provided by clients or third parties.
    • Prepare case-related financial records and assist with the distribution of funds.
    • Process instructions in accordance with established procedures and the firm’s quality standards.
  • Administrative and Support Services:

    • Provide administrative support including typing, diary management, and general office duties.
    • Manage filing systems, correspondence, and document handling.
  • Client Communication and Representation:

    • Maintain professional client interactions, ensuring confidentiality and discretion.
    • Respond promptly to client queries and support the processing of client instructions in line with firm procedures.
  • Teamwork and Professional Development:

    • Actively contribute to the team, organize and prioritize workloads, and engage in ongoing training to enhance legal knowledge and skills.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ legal secretarial experience; full training will be provided.
  • Fast and accurate audio and copy typing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
  • Experience with legal case management software (e.g., Partners for Windows) is advantageous.
  • Strong English grammar, spelling, legal terminology familiarity, and numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage confidential information discreetly.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities as required.
