Overview

In this role you shape stylised, open-world environments using Unreal Engine 5 for RuneScape: Dragonwilds. You will own asset creation from modelling to materials and in-engine implementation, ensuring consistency and technical robustness in a large interconnected world. You collaborate with art leadership, design, and engineering to meet quality and style targets. This is a hands-on role with creative ownership and a clear impact on how players experience the game world.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement high-quality 3D environment assets and scenes aligned with RuneScape: Dragonwilds visual style
  • Build modular environment kits and reusable assets to support scalable world building
  • Own the full asset lifecycle from modelling to texturing and material creation
  • Collaborate with Leads and Senior Artists to meet quality, style, and technical requirements
  • Apply feedback to refine assets and maintain cross-environment consistency
  • Follow established pipelines and technical constraints for Unreal Engine 5 development
  • Support environment production across terrain, props, and set dressing

Key requirements

  • Unreal Engine environment art experience
  • Experience with Maya, ZBrush, Substance suite
  • Proficiency in level art, prop creation, modelling, and texturing
  • Experience on open world or large-scale environments
  • Portfolio showing stylised or exaggerated-realism environments
  • Familiarity with outsource pipelines and modular workflows
  • Lighting or concept support experience is a bonus
