Geo Environmental Engineer

Overview

In this role you support the delivery of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations across development and infrastructure clients. You will plan, supervise and log fieldwork, coordinate laboratories, monitor groundwater and gas, and produce concise reports. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to inform design, risk management, and regulatory compliance. The position offers hybrid working and tailored development within a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and coordinate geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations across multiple sectors
• Log soils, log boreholes and coordinate laboratory testing; ensure data quality
• Undertake groundwater and ground gas monitoring and produce factual/interpretative reports
• Prepare concise desk studies and interpretative reports; support project design and risk management
• Manage site logistics, procurement and on-site teams to meet programme and budget
• Ensure health, safety and regulatory/compliance requirements are followed
• Communicate findings clearly to engineers, clients and contractors; mentor junior staff

Key requirements

• Degree in geology, engineering geology or environmental science
• Practical ground investigation experience (scoping, logging, monitoring, reporting)
• Full driving licence
• Desirable: CAT/Genny, SSSTS/SMSTS, Water Hygiene, First Aid, CSCS card
