Environmental Project Engineer (Client Side) – Staff – London

Overview

In this client-side Environmental Project Engineer role, you review environmental documentation from FEED contractors and environmental specialists, and support the DCO process through to approval. You lead EIAs, manage environmental consultants, and ensure technical compliance across packages. You maintain trackers and risk registers while coordinating with stakeholders to keep the project on track. The role combines technical review with stakeholder engagement on a major clean energy project.

Responsibilities

• Review environmental documentation from FEED contractors and consultants
• Support DCO application and obtain approval
• Coordinate and lead EIAs within the DCO process
• Manage environmental consultants and develop environmental documentation
• Ensure compliance with DCO conditions and track progress
• Maintain risk register, consent register, and other trackers
• Review progress and cost reports from DCO consultants
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders and lead progress meetings
• Check deliverables including drawings, schedules, datasheets, and specifications
• Support Land Strategy Team in Land Acquisition processes

Key requirements

• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Chartered status is desirable but not essential
• Experience in supporting DCO applications preferred
• Experience delivering EIAs on large, complex projects also considered
• Client-side experience is highly advantageous
• Previous work on Oil & Gas, Petrochem, or Renewable Energy projects; Energy from Waste or similar also advantageous
