Information Security Engineer

Overview

In this role you help defend Medpace’s digital infrastructure by designing and improving cybersecurity architecture across infrastructure, cloud, edge devices, and data. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement secure solutions and drive threat mitigation at scale. You’ll lead vulnerability research, policy development, and security training to raise awareness and resilience. This is a hands-on, autonomous role in London, with a strong emphasis on continuous learning and impact on company-wide security. Your work supports Medpace’s mission to protect critical clinical data and systems while enabling business growth.

Responsibilities

• Engine security solutions with minimal oversight across multiple departments
• Continuously analyze and improve security systems and controls
• Research vulnerabilities, perform scans, and mitigate threats
• Develop and codify security best practices and policies
• Document processes, cross-train staff, and assist employees on security matters
• Deliver security awareness training and testing for staff
• Stay current on cybersecurity trends through education and professional involvement
• Lead incident response and remediation activities
• Perform access reviews and enforce least-privilege access

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Information Technology
• At least 2 years of experience implementing Information Security solutions
• Solid understanding of security best practices at an enterprise level
• Experience deploying and managing enterprise-grade security solutions: SIEM; Privileged Access Management/IAM/MFA; Endpoint Detection & Response; NAC; Cloud (Azure/AWS); Active Directory
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills with problem-solving and prioritization abilities
• Basic scripting skills (PowerShell/Python)
