Software Engineer – Materials Management

Overview

In this role you will design and build scalable backend services for the Materials Management SaaS, supporting material and substance definitions within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. You’ll work with a cross‑functional team to evolve the product from Go Live through MVP and beyond, shaping robust cloud-native solutions. Expect to tackle complex workflows, optimize multi‑tenant architectures, and drive high-quality delivery through modern tooling. Responsibilities

• Architect server-side solutions and APIs using Java and modern JavaScript ecosystems
• Drive product evolution by enabling new backend features for scientific workflows
• Champion continuous delivery with comprehensive test coverage and maintainable code
• Innovate and modernise backend tooling, patterns, and engineering practices
• Optimize cloud architecture, data processing, and multi-tenant capabilities
• Elevate code quality through rigorous peer reviews and robust codebases

Key requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, STEM, or related discipline
• Strong backend experience with Java and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience designing secure, high-performance RESTful APIs for large-scale SaaS
• Automated backend testing experience (JUnit, Mocha/Jest)
• Ownership mindset, agile culture, excellent English communication
• Experience with RDF/graph databases and SPARQL querying
• Interest or background in materials science, chemistry, biology, or scientific informatics
• Familiarity with Angular 21+ and RxJS to support collaboration when needed
