Senior Cost Consultant – MEP

Overview

In this role you will provide full cycle cost management for ongoing commissions and projects with an MEP background. You will lead feasibility studies, procurement strategies, and cost planning, owning the final cost plan and negotiating final accounts. You will act as a key interface with clients and stakeholders and drive improvements in cost management procedures. Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and advise on procurement strategies and contract selection
• Write and undertake procurement reports
• Apply value management techniques at project outset
• Manage, estimate and cost plan activities, take ownership of final cost plan
• Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed
• Serve as key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants
• Handle contractual frameworks and standard forms of contract
• Identify opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates and services
• Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes

Key requirements

• Advising on contract administration (JCT/NEC forms) and value engineering
• Life cycle costing and Capex vs OpEx analysis
• Commercial insight on MEP, sustainability, carbon reduction, and public-sector priorities
• Apply industry best practice and professional standards to client outcomes
