Cost Consultant – Cities & Places

Overview

In this role you will steer client-focused outcomes across cost planning, procurement and KPI delivery within Mace’s Cities and Places sector. You will work with government and private-sector clients to create spaces that improve lives while advancing sustainability and net‑zero goals. You’ll mentor teams, champion continuous improvement, and ensure compliant, value-driven project delivery. Responsibilities

• Deliver client-focused outcomes through cost planning, procurement, and KPI achievement
• Uphold integrity and drive net zero carbon transition in delivery
• Mentor teams, champion innovation, embed continuous improvement
• Manage feasibility studies, procurement strategies, and contract selection with robust reporting
• Oversee estimating, cost planning, and valuations with clear stakeholder reporting
• Oversee contracts, claims, and completion processes to drive project success
• Mentor teams and sustain continuous improvement with a focus on net zero transition

Key requirements

• Degree in quantity surveying or cost management
• MRICS/RICS or equivalent professional membership, progressing toward fellowship
• Proven consulting experience with strong commercial and financial acumen
• Expertise in value engineering, sustainability, and stakeholder management within diverse teams
