Overview

In this role you will deliver multi-disciplinary building surveying commissions for predominantly commercial projects, working within a growing Leeds team and a national Built Asset Solutions network. You’ll manage surveys, dilapidations, due diligence, party wall matters, and new builds through to handover, while maintaining customer relationships and driving service quality. You join a UK-wide offering exclusive to Gleeds, contributing to growth and high-value project delivery. You’ll work closely with QS and PM colleagues to shape surveys and provide strong professional advice.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver multi-disciplinary building surveying commissions from feasibility to handover
  • Manage surveys, dilapidations, party wall, and construction projects for new builds, renovations and maintenance
  • Prepare and manage planned maintenance programmes
  • Quality monitor construction projects and ensure deliverables meet requirements
  • Plan service delivery with the director and oversee project outcomes
  • Provide clear professional advice to clients and project teams
  • Ensure independent checks of quantitative/financial information and maintain audit trails
  • Identify new business opportunities and support growth within the business unit

Key requirements

  • MRICS or MCIOB
  • sound knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies
  • ability to administer contracts as Contracts Administrator and Employers Agent
  • clear understanding of legislation impacting building contracts
  • excellent written and oral communication
  • strong organisational skills and adaptability
  • sound problem solving, negotiation, financial and numeracy management
  • strong ICT skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
