Cost Manager/Project Quantity Surveyor – Construction

Overview

As a Cost Manager you will guide clients and professional teams on iconic Northeast projects, ensuring value for money through quantitative and qualitative insight. You work closely with conservators, architects and engineers to balance client needs with practical cost outcomes. You bring construction knowledge from Main Contracting or PQS backgrounds and use an collaborative approach to drive sound commercial decisions. This role offers impact across project lifecycles, shaping budgets and procurement strategy in a real estate-focused practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist feasibility studies and prepare procurement reports
• Estimate and cost plan; present the final cost plan
• Tendering and procurement including pre-qualification management
• Manage post-contract cost variances and change control processes
• Perform cost checks and valuations on larger projects with timely accuracy
• Produce monthly post-contract cost reports for clients
• Contribute to value engineering efforts
• Negotiate and agree final accounts
• Interface with client and other consultants at all project stages

Key requirements

• Proven track record delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services across full project lifecycle
• Professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
• Degree or HNC level qualification
