Senior Quantity Surveyor – Stratford – 55k – 60k + package

Overview

In this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, you will drive commercial performance on a major Network Rail project in East London. You will work with project teams and client/commercial counterparts to ensure contract compliance, timely documentation, and accurate cost reporting. You will lead cost control, valuations, and subcontract management while identifying risks and opportunities to improve efficiency. You will develop your team and contribute to the project’s success within a major civil engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead timely and contract-compliant documentation delivery
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and client teams
• Prepare progress valuations, claims, and cost forecasts
• Maintain cost control, cost reports, and budget tracking
• Manage subcontracts from award to final account
• Prepare interim payments and final accounts with subcontractors
• Maintain variation, delay, and claims registers
• Support change control processes and risk/contingency management
• Review value management proposals

Key requirements

• Working knowledge of NEC Target Cost contracts
• Rail sector experience with main contractors
• Commercial management skills and documentation production
• IT skills applied to commercial management
• Experience with reporting and forecasting
• Subcontract management from order to final account
