NHS Consultant Rheumatologist / General Medicine

Overview

In this full-time Consultant role, you will provide inpatient, day unit, and outpatient rheumatology services across East Sussex, working within a multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to the development of a patient-centered rheumatology service, participate in ultrasound-guided clinics, and support cross-site activities including outreach clinics. You’ll engage in audits, governance, and outcome meetings to drive service improvement. This is a cross-site post with opportunities to shape care across EDGH and community sites, delivering high-quality, pathway-driven care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inpatient, day unit, and outpatient rheumatology services across multiple sites
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care
• Run ultrasound-incorporated fast-track GCA clinic and cross-county activities in community clinics
• Participate in regular audits, governance, and outcome meetings with colleagues across sites
• Collaborate with cross-site teams and contribute to service development and improvements
• Support teaching, supervision, and clinical skills training as part of the team

Key requirements

• MRCP or equivalent
• CCT in Rheumatology & General Internal Medicine or equivalent, on GMC specialist register
• Full GMC registration and Licence to Practice
• Expertise in Rheumatology and General Medicine
