Overview

As a Solicitor early in your career, you join a leading Court of Protection team to support vulnerable clients. You will handle deputyship-related matters, manage a caseload under supervision, and contribute to client relationships and business development. The role offers exposure to complex protection work within a nationally recognized firm and opportunities for long‑term development. You’ll work alongside experienced lawyers in a collaborative, client‑focused culture with hybrid working options.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist on Property & Financial Affairs Deputyship matters
  • Run own caseload with supervision
  • Prepare Court of Protection applications and annual Deputy Reports
  • Support management of clients’ financial affairs (budgeting, payments, property transactions)
  • Assist administration of Personal Injury Trusts
  • Liaise with clients, families, case managers, healthcare professionals and advisers
  • Attend client meetings and visits as required
  • Develop expertise in statutory wills, care funding and welfare benefits
  • Contribute to business development and strengthen client/referrer relationships

Key requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor status in England & Wales with 0-3 years’ PQE
  • Genuine interest in Court of Protection and vulnerable client work
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients, families and professional contacts
  • Strong drafting, analytical and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Previous Court of Protection experience is advantageous, but not mandatory
