Overview
In this role you will lead hard landscaping projects for high-end schemes in London, guiding technical decisions and coordinating cross-functional teams. You will work closely with the design and construction teams to meet client needs, budget, and quality standards. The position offers hands-on leadership in a supportive, development-focused environment with a track record of staff retention. You will shape delivery processes on complex civil/hard landscaping projects and drive projects to successful, on-time completion. Responsibilities
- Research and propose engineering solutions that meet client requirements and budget
- Supervise setting out and verify works as required for the project
- Manage on-site personnel to deliver on time, within budget, and to high standards
- Maintain a daily site diary recording manpower levels for each sub-contractor
- Oversee engineering procurement, including ordering concrete and bulk materials
- Supervise quality and measurement of all concrete pours
- Oversee concrete cube register and other quality checks by the Junior Engineer
- Facilitate information flow between the Design Team and Construction Team
- Attend weekly management team meetings
- Maintain and schedule daily/weekly work programmes and review progress against the master construction programme
- Assist with control of plant and equipment on site
- Organise delivery of materials, plant and equipment needed for the project
- Prepare engineering calculations as required and supervise drafting
Key requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- 5-7 years proven experience at Senior Level on similar high-end civil/hard landscaping projects
- Technical competence in the use of all setting out instruments
- Ability to manage site programme and schedules to deadlines
- Excellent record keeping and ability to address design issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project/Powerproject
