Senior Building Surveyor (MRICS)

Overview

In this Cardiff-based role, you will deliver comprehensive building surveying services across professional and project-led work, guiding surveys, defect diagnosis, specification writing, and contract administration. You will lead on technical matters such as dilapidations, PPM schedules, condition surveys, and Party Wall instructions, while providing due diligence and acting as Principal Designer under CDM 2015. You will nurture client relationships and contribute to the firm’s collaborative, people-first culture as you work on diverse sector projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full spectrum building surveying services from inception to completion
• Lead technical matters: dilapidations, PPM schedules, condition surveys, RCAs, Party Wall
• Provide technical due diligence to clients
• Act as Principal Designer under CDM Regulations 2015
• Grow and maintain client relationships and manage stakeholders
• Prepare high-quality reports and recommendations
• Contract administration and specification writing
• Support multi-sector project delivery including complex developments

Key requirements

• MRICS qualification (essential)
• Experience delivering professional and project-led building surveying work
• Excellent report-writing and communication skills
• Ability to manage clients, contractors, and stakeholders confidently
• Experience with AutoCAD/NBS is desirable but not essential
