Site Manager

Overview

In this role you will manage construction operations to deliver on-time, defect-free homes within cost and safety parameters, while meeting customer expectations. You will act as the Designated Individual Principal Contractor under the Building Safety Act. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and monitor site activities, driving safe, efficient build programmes and high-quality outcomes. Responsibilities

• Produce method statements for site development, including compound layout, material storage, spoil management and access constraints
• Assist Production Director in creating and aligning the site programme with budget targets
• Develop detailed roads, sewers, site area and enabling works programmes
• Evaluate information from development, technical and sales teams and external agencies
• Determine plant, equipment and personnel needs with technical departments
• Assess material delivery times relative to build programme and feed into planning
• Create a show-area build programme to meet accelerated timelines
• Prepare weekly management reports and monitor progress against planned objectives
• Collaborate with Production Director to monitor site build progress
• Support pre-start health and safety planning and update as the site progresses
• Ensure compliance with Construction (Health & Safety) Regulations 1974 and Taylor Wimpey safety procedures
• Verify operatives hold necessary certifications/licenses for their duties
• Conduct frequent inspections to ensure safe operations
• Ensure adherence to method statements and risk assessments from subcontractors or Taylor Wimpey management
• Review subcontractor Method Statements, Risk Assessments and COSHH reports

• NVQ Residential Construction Site Management L6
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
• Cost controls and working to site budgets
• Trade background
• CSCS card – Site Management
• First Aid qualified
