Logistics Manager

Overview

As Logistics Manager, you will own the UK supply chain for a fast-growing automotive manufacturer, ensuring vehicles move efficiently from factory to forecourt. You will work across Product, Sales, Finance and IT to keep stock available, timely deliveries, and cost-effective operations. You will improve logistics systems, manage supplier relationships, and support new model launches with strong planning and commercial judgement. This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the center of the business, shaping delivery performance and customer experience. A clear hook is the opportunity to drive end-to-end logistics excellence across partners, facilities and the dealer network.

Responsibilities

• Manage contractual relationships with shipping agents, Port of Entry and delivery companies, ensuring contracts are in place and KPIs are met
• Coordinate with Finance and Legal to meet tax and legislative requirements
• Develop IT infrastructure between factory and Dealer Network to improve delivery accuracy and functionality
• Lead supply chain operations to ensure vehicle availability, stock control and ageing policies
• Identify opportunities to improve service levels and reduce contractor costs
• Support development of new facilities aligned with business growth
• Deliver central stocking to optimise vehicle availability for sale
• Lead the VOD team to handle dealer queries within SLAs
• Ensure timely vehicle availability to support dealer sales and profit targets
• Collaborate with Product team on vehicle run-out and new launches milestones
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to meet overall supply requirements
• Work with IT to improve customer-facing logistics systems
• Manage and monitor supply chain KPIs
• Develop aged stock policies across storage locations
• Communicate on supply status, including backorders and production constraints
• Support Sales Operations with monthly production order meetings
• Provide reporting and insight on stock levels, lead times and vehicle coverage
• Support forecasting activities to ensure correct model and powertrain availability

Key requirements

• Experience in logistics planning
• Strong analytical and organisational skills
• Strong numerical ability and good PC skills
• Confident presentation skills
• Knowledge of import taxation and international legislative requirements
• Strong project management and analytical capability
• Experience managing budgets and controlling costs
