Project Engineer MEP Rail

Overview

As a Project Engineer on a major HS2 infrastructure programme, you will drive MEP installation, testing and commissioning across five shafts, translating design into on-site delivery. You will maintain construction and technical assurance, coordinating with contractors and engineering specialists to resolve interfaces and ensure adherence to design and project requirements. This role sits at a key transition from design into installation and commissioning, offering hands-on site leadership and cross-functional collaboration. You will contribute to a high-profile, regulated rail project, shaping delivery and technical assurance through to project closeout.

Pay / Benefits

• salary 60,142.80 to 70,756 including flexible fund
• location: Rickmansworth / West London
• 3 days per week on site
• permanent full-time

Responsibilities

• Oversee MEP installation, testing and commissioning to approved design
• Provide on-site construction and technical assurance across interfaces
• Collaborate with contractors, designers and specialists to resolve technical issues
• Ensure compliance with project requirements and NEC or similar contract frameworks
• Support transition from design to installation and commissioning
• Maintain site presence and manage coordination with engineering teams

Key requirements

• Strong MEP engineering experience across mechanical, electrical or public health systems
• Proven track record delivering complex MEP installation, testing and commissioning
• Experience working on rail projects or in a rail environment
• Construction and design assurance experience
• Understanding of technical assurance and managing issues during construction
• Confidence in working with contractors, designers and technical stakeholders
• Appreciation of the NEC Supervisor role and construction assurance responsibilities
