Overview

As Scotland Director, you will lead nature recovery efforts in Scotland, shaping RSPB’s direction and translating strategy into impactful action. You’ll govern and guide ambitious, evidence-based programmes, working with senior leadership to influence policy and build influential partnerships. You will nurture a high-performing, inclusive team and oversee risk, compliance, and organisational transformation within One RSPB. This role offers impact across major projects like Orkney Native Wildlife Project, Cairngorms Connect, and the Peatland Programme.

Responsibilities

• Lead aligned programmes to deliver measurable nature outcomes
• Provide senior leadership within governance structures and contribute to UK-wide strategy
• Build and maintain relationships with government, funders and stakeholders
• Represent RSPB at national/international levels, including media work
• Inspire and develop a high-performing, inclusive team
• Ensure systems for risk, compliance and performance management
• Support One RSPB transformation for Scotland, including strategic delivery
• Oversee major projects such as Orkney Native Wildlife Project, Cairngorms Connect, and Peatland Programme
