Overview

Senior strategic role leading advisory work for state funded schools within a Regulatory, Risk & Resolution team. You will be the lead adviser for state funded schools and trusts, shaping policy and strategy across public law matters in education. The role offers cross-team collaboration and opportunities to grow the education practice and influence high-impact decisions. You will work with MATs, SATs and state schools on governance, safeguarding, investigations, and complex regulatory issues, driving meaningful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead adviser for state funded schools and trusts
• Advise on registration and inspection, admissions and appeals
• Manage complaints, governance, and decision making
• Handle SEND, discrimination, safeguarding, pupil discipline
• Oversee critical incident management, investigations, civil claims and judicial review
• Collaborate across teams to manage complex matters and influence strategy
