LADO Education Safeguarding Advisor

Overview

As a LADO and Education Safeguarding Advisor, you will lead on managing allegations about professionals in the children’s workforce and promote safeguarding excellence across schools and early years settings. You will provide expert safeguarding advice, deliver training, and contribute to quality assurance and safeguarding frameworks. Working within LESAS, you’ll represent the unit in multi-agency forums and help shape standards for child protection. This role blends statutory duties with strategic influence to protect children across Kent.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex safeguarding allegations about those in the children’s workforce
• Provide safeguarding advice, training, and safeguarding reviews to schools and education services
• Deliver training for Designated Safeguarding Leads and promote LESAS products
• Contribute to quality assurance, audits, and safeguarding framework development
• Represent the Safeguarding Unit in multi-agency forums and child outcome initiatives

Key requirements

• Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England
• Experience in safeguarding and child protection within education or children’s services
• Confidence in managing complex safeguarding concerns and allegations
• Skilled in delivering training, consultation, and quality assurance activities
• Strong communicator with ability to influence across multi-agency partnerships
• Commitment to professional development and reflective practice
