Research Analyst (Utilities)

Overview

As a Research Analyst at Citi you will help shape equity insights by building financial models, writing research notes, and evaluating macro trends in energy and utilities. You’ll communicate ideas to institutional investors and collaborate with Citi’s product teams to spot market opportunities. Your work supports investment decisions and client engagement across the research team. This role places you at the intersection of rigorous analysis, risk-aware judgment, and impactful client-facing work, contributing to Citi’s broader research agenda and reputation.

Responsibilities

• manage a group of stocks within assigned sectors
• build financial models and valuation techniques
• write research reports and provide investable theses
• conduct macroeconomic analysis on global energy and utilities industries
• communicate ideas to institutional investors and clients
• conduct due diligence and support investor access to companies
• interact with institutional clients and arrange company visits
• track events and earnings and attend industry conferences
• assess risk and ensure compliance with regulatory regimes
• develop expert credibility in the space

Key requirements
