Junior Utility Surveyor

Overview

In this role based in Guildford, you support buried services survey work UK-wide, assisting senior surveyors and ensuring fieldwork meets WSP standards. You will process survey data and collaborate with the Topographical, UAV and MBS teams to deliver underground utility and drainage surveys. The position offers growth within a cross-functional geospatial team and opportunities to work on varied projects for Local Authorities and consultants. You will contribute to accurate, reliable locational data and a culture that values curiosity and new ideas.

Responsibilities

• Assist fieldwork for below ground utility surveys and drainage surveys
• Process survey data to WSP standards
• Report to the survey team lead
• Collaborate with UK-wide survey teams (Topographical, Measured Building & Buried Services, UAV)
• Contribute to production of survey outputs and reports

Key requirements

• Relevant technical degree/HND in surveying or related discipline
• Experience in a similar role or transferable skills
• Knowledge of fieldwork for below ground utility surveys and drainage surveys; EM and GPR techniques advantageous
• Understanding of processing fieldwork and producing 2D & 3D CAD drawings and other survey reports advantageous
• Ability to conduct topographical surveys with Total Stations and GNSS equipment advantageous
• Strong communication skills; able to work in varied conditions and travel across the UK
