Overview
In this Associate Director role, you will support senior team members in originating and executing M&A and financing transactions within the Oil, Gas & Chemicals sector. You’ll gain exposure to cross-border work, spanning advisory and financing products, with responsibilities from financial modelling to client materials. You will coordinate deal teams across the bank, oversee analysts and interns, and manage live transaction workstreams. This position offers broad experience in complex, end-to-end transactions and project leadership within a global bank culture.

Responsibilities
- Support origination and execution of M&A and financing transactions in the Oil, Gas & Chemicals sector
- Conduct financial, valuation and company analyses using industry methodologies
- Build and maintain detailed financial models evaluating performance and capital structures
- Prepare client presentations on strategic options, M&A activity and corporate finance topics
- Perform industry, market and target research including benchmarking
- Participate in due diligence and assist in drafting marketing, transaction and documentation materials
- Lead the preparation of marketing and transaction materials with senior team members
- Coordinate with deal teams across the Bank to deliver transactions
- Manage day-to-day execution workstreams, stakeholder engagement and project coordination
- Coach and review work produced by analysts and interns
Key requirements
- Significant M&A experience or relevant sector expertise, or a combination of both
- Background in M&A, investment banking, project finance, structured finance, debt/equity capital markets, or other transaction-focused environments
- Exposure to a leading investment banking platform preferred
- Knowledge of Energy, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Metals & Mining, Natural Resources or related sectors valued
- Proven track record supporting end-to-end transaction execution across M&A and financing
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical capabilities
- Ability to prepare client-facing materials and conduct company/industry research, collaborating with senior deal teams
- Strong project management, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to coach, review and develop junior team members
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint proficiency; familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ and Mergermarket
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related discipline; CFA or similar qualifications advantageous
