Product Design Engineer – Mechanical

Overview

In this role you will own mechanical product development from concept through manufacturing-ready release for harsh industrial environments. You will work with cross-functional teams to shape reliable hardware and drive documentation and change control. You will tackle design constraints like corrosion resistance and extreme temperatures, delivering end-to-end solutions that impact product performance. This position offers autonomy, hands-on ownership, and opportunities to influence product reliability and field performance.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical product development across the full lifecycle from R&D to design validation and release
• Create DFM-ready drawings and manufacturing documentation to smooth production and change control
• Manage BOMs and lead ECR processes to ensure accurate engineering changes
• Collaborate with electronics and software teams to remove bottlenecks and align on technical interfaces
• Deliver outputs meeting constraints such as corrosion resistance, high temperature, confined access, and high-consequence failure modes
• Support manufacturing handovers by maintaining consistent drawings and configurations

Key requirements

• ≥2 years in a mechanical engineering role with robotics or field-hardware design experience (portfolio required)
• SolidWorks proficiency and build-ready documentation skills
• Strong DFM discipline for manufacturability and ease of assembly
• Experience owning BOM/CBOM management and leading ECR processes
• Electronics and software literacy to collaborate across teams
