Overview

As a Senior Renewable Energy Underwriter at AIG, you’ll grow a profitable renewables book by sourcing new business and underwriting within governance frameworks. You’ll collaborate with Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims and Operations to ensure consistent, data-driven underwriting across regional portfolios. You’ll nurture producer and client relationships, guide junior team members, and contribute to regional underwriting strategy. Responsibilities

• Source and underwrite new renewable energy business to meet profitability targets
• Develop and maintain a profitable renewables portfolio
• Underwrite in line with Energy governance, guidelines and rules
• Oversee global data set of submissions and historical loss results
• Coordinate cross-functional underwriting involvement (Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims, Operations)
• Manage referrals and perform 4-eye reviews with underwriters
• Contribute to regional underwriting strategy
• Build relationships with producers, clients and stakeholders
• Ensure accurate policy documentation issued to producers
• Provide training and support to junior Energy team members

Key requirements

• Extensive experience underwriting profitable renewable energy business in large corporate international insurance
• Strong client and broker relationships at peer group level
• Specialized understanding of regional/local Renewable, Engineering & Construction markets
• Ability to leverage data and analytics for efficiency
• Solid understanding of legal and regulatory environment
• Ability to design, develop and implement robust wordings for contracts
• Excellent negotiation, organizational and interpersonal skills
