Overview

In this role you will lead the quality assurance teams to ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance across the site. You’ll direct the quality management system, drive internal audits, and support external audit readiness to meet customer, legislative and strategic requirements. You will grow the QA capability through the technical strategy and monitor key performance indicators to improve efficiency and effectiveness. You will also lead projects to enhance production capabilities and maintain a safe working environment. Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate QA teams to deliver service improvements aligned with daily operations (safety, quality, legality, customer requirements)
  • Direct the quality management system and internal audit plan to ensure compliance with customer, manufacturing unit, legislative, divisional and strategic requirements
  • Support external audits by providing information and demonstrating operational practice
  • Develop QA team capabilities through the technical strategy
  • Monitor departmental KPIs, adjust activities to achieve targets
  • Plan and maintain resource utilization for required QA tasks
  • Lead and deliver projects to enhance business effectiveness and cost efficiency
  • Build production capability to meet relevant technical requirements
  • Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with Health, Safety and Environment Policy

Key requirements

  • Degree level with a Food specialism or equivalent qualification
  • Previous internal audit experience
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate level 3 and level 3 Health and Safety
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and related IT packages
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles and practice
  • Knowledge of allergen implications, labeling and nutritional awareness
  • Experience in shelf-life determination and hygiene/disinfection principles
  • Basic micro awareness and risk assessment knowledge
  • Knowledge of legal labeling and weight legislation
  • Knowledge of technical KPIs
