Planning Solicitor – Cardiff

Overview

You will join a leading national law firm as a Planning Solicitor in Cardiff, handling planning matters for a diverse client base. You will steer planning permission strategies, conduct due diligence on planning aspects of real estate and corporate transactions, and guide on protections like Assets of Community Value and Village Greens. You will manage your own caseload while collaborating with seniors on development work and contribute to business development. This role offers hybrid working (2–3 days in-office) and the chance to influence major development projects within a reputable team.

Responsibilities

• Advise on planning permission strategies and negotiations for statutory agreements
• Conduct due diligence for planning aspects of real estate, funding, and corporate transactions
• Provide guidance on special protection areas, Assets of Community Value, and Village Greens
• Assist with risk management by auditing planning documents, handling appeals, judicial reviews, enforcement, and highways matters
• Demonstrate knowledge of EIA, CIL, and GLA planning
• Manage own caseload while collaborating with senior colleagues on development-focused matters
• Engage in business development and networking

Key requirements

• 3+ years PQE
• strong technical expertise in planning and highways law
