Overview

In this role you will provide second-line risk oversight for Visa Direct and related entities, shaping risk governance and controls to support growth. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders and risk colleagues to identify, assess, and mitigate key risks across strategic, financial, operational, and regulatory dimensions. You will drive monitoring, reporting, and governance, while embedding a strong risk culture and ensuring regulator-facing communications are robust. This is a chance to influence risk posture in a global payments ecosystem and help sustain Visa’s leadership in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee risk management oversight for Visa Direct and related entities
  • Advise senior management to ensure key risks are identified and managed
  • Collaborate with risk teams and leaders to identify, manage, and mitigate risk areas (strategic, financial, operational, ecosystem, legal, compliance)
  • Establish and oversee monitoring, testing, and reporting processes for risks
  • Evaluate emerging risks and propose mitigation strategies to business leaders
  • Implement and enhance enterprise risk management policies and processes
  • Provide governance over credit risks and risk reporting to leadership and risk committees
  • Support embedding a strong risk culture across Visa Direct
  • Review external regulator communications and provide assurance on regulatory deliverables
  • Ensure second line oversight covers compliance, technology risks, and control frameworks
  • Lead or coordinate third-party assessments against industry standards
  • Provide second line controls assurance across Visa Direct and first line risk and control activities
  • Operate within a hybrid model with in-office presence in London (Paddington) three days a week

Key requirements

  • Extensive experience in a Risk Management role
  • Strong understanding of payments industry and financial services
  • Excellent knowledge of risk management practices across risk types
  • Degree level education or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Understanding of Financial, Compliance and Technology risks and payments regulations
  • Cross-functional collaboration to ensure comprehensive risk assessments
  • Strong communication to advise and influence leadership
  • Ability to identify root causes and trends impacting risk
  • Ability to produce management information for executive decisions
  • Data analysis skills and strong business acumen
  • Regulatory experience and working with regulators
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • Ability to grasp complex topics quickly and outline actionable plans
