Quantity Surveyor – Construction

Overview

In this role, you support major contractor projects across London, focusing on accurate cost planning and contract administration. You will collaborate with clients, suppliers, and crews to ensure feasible budgets and timelines. You’ll drive cost control, risk assessment, and reporting to stakeholders. This is a hands-on position with significant impact on project profitability and delivery quality. You will leverage your experience to shape commercial outcomes on industrial, commercial or residential builds.

Pay / Benefits

• salary package 55,000 – 75,000+

Responsibilities

• Meet clients to define needs and discuss changes for price or feasibility
• Calculate material quantities, costs, labour costs, and project timelines
• Negotiate labour contracts and schedules
• Advise clients and crew on legal matters and disputes
• Monitor subcontractors, safety, progress, and material requirements, including cost-impactful changes
• Prepare labour and supplier accounts for payment
• Write reports detailing costs and progress for clients

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction-related discipline
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with large teams and clients’ supply chain
• Experience working on JCT or NEC contracts
• Over 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience
