Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Overview

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer at ITW Construction – Offsite Europe, you will maintain and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment to maximise uptime. You will work within the maintenance team, supporting both electrical and mechanical tasks and contributing to automation and upgrade projects. Your role links production, toolrooms and external contractors to ensure safe, reliable operation. You will help drive continuous improvement and align with the site’s growth and efficiency goals. This is a hands-on role in a high‑volume, heavy industrial environment with a clear impact on performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and preventative maintenance, installations and repairs on equipment (presses, forklifts, decoilers, lift tables).
• Collaborate with mechanical resources and support general electrical maintenance across site areas (offices, shop floor, warehouse, grounds).
• Handle overtime call-outs for emergency electrical issues.
• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives alongside external contractors.
• Maximise uptime and minimise downtime of operations.
• Coordinate with production/toolroom teams on breakdowns and repairs.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, electrical control systems, hydraulics and pneumatics; implement remedial actions.
• Follow safe systems of work and maintain records for maintenance schedules.
• Source replacement parts for emergencies and support project engineering (automation, new assets, press maintenance, electrical upgrades, electronics).
• Participate in health and safety activities and ensure guarding and PPE usage.

Key requirements

• Qualified and time served Electrical Engineer with 3–4 years’ manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Experience with power press and progressive die stamping (preferable).
• Strong background in heavy industrial environments and ability to read electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations and 17th/18th edition qualification.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and TPM systems.
• Ability to fault-find PLCs.
• HNC/Apprentice trained (minimum).
• Experience working with contractors.
