Overview

As a Field Service Technician, you will carry out on-site repairs and planned maintenance on Crown forklifts at customer sites, ensuring safe, cost-effective service. You will monitor site stock, complete clear documentation, and safeguard equipment and tooling. The role combines independent fieldwork with team collaboration to meet tight schedules and quality standards. You will contribute to customer productivity and fleet efficiency while upholding health, safety, and Crown’s service excellence. This is a hands-on role at the heart of Crown’s customer-focused business, offering ongoing training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site service and repairs on customer equipment in a safe, professional, and cost-effective manner
  • Follow a planned schedule of service and maintenance at client premises (and off-site when required)
  • Monitor and count site stock for daily maintenance needs
  • Carry out inspections to ensure safety of repaired/maintained trucks
  • Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets, purchase requisitions, and parts paperwork within timescales
  • Be responsible for equipment and tooling (van, laptop, printer, etc.) and ensure safe condition for work
  • Adhere to strict planned schedules and deadlines

Key requirements

  • Knowledge in at least one of: Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Hydraulics
  • Full UK driving licence
  • GCSE English and Maths (grade C)
  • Experience of Health & Safety in workshop practice
  • Commitment to continuing personal and professional development
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
  • Clear oral and written communication; consultation and negotiation skills
