Stores Operative

Overview

In this role you will support Saab Seaeye’s underwater robotics division by handling goods receipt, stock processing and order picking. You’ll work to high accuracy and safety standards, managing stock locations and packing for courier delivery. You will collaborate with Materials and QA for smooth inbound/outbound flows and help maintain clean, safe stores and yard. The position offers hands-on logistics work in a high-tech, mission-focused environment that values reliability and efficiency. You will be central to keeping materials flowing to production and customer fulfilment.

Responsibilities

• Receive goods and materials in line with the MRP delivery schedule
• Process goods receipt documentation and resolve booking-in issues
• Locate stock in correct locations and apply stock rotation
• Label and pack stock to prevent contamination or damage
• Pick work orders and sales orders with high accuracy
• Perform general stores duties including loading, unloading, sorting, and stock movements
• Follow manual handling guidelines and use lifting equipment as needed
• Keep the yard organized, safe, and properly stored (COSHH cabinet and oil store)
• Support waste collection processes as required
• Respond to hatch inquiries with appropriate urgency
• Process online store requisitions accurately and timely
• Maintain daily KPI data and update product/part locations
• Maintain stores equipment and vehicles and report malfunctions
• Report stock discrepancies to the Materials Supervisor
• Ensure packing for courier collections meets standards
• Order crates and packing materials to meet deadlines
• Undertake other duties within competence as required by Head of Unit

Key requirements

• Previous Warehouse or Stores experience desired
• Experience of working at height required
• Experience with ERP systems
• Forklift experience desirable
