Overview
As Discipline Director for Technical Delivery, you will lead the ASSIST team’s technical delivery, resourcing, and operational effectiveness, partnering with discipline leads and business leaders to ensure quality and growth. You guide safety culture, support bids, and develop people while enabling efficient, high-quality survey and site investigation services. You’ll balance complex project workloads, drive delivery excellence, and implement innovative approaches. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role with global reach in infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
- Lead resourcing and technical delivery of multidisciplinary projects within ASSIST
- Act as primary escalation point for resourcing and delivery/quality issues in survey and investigation disciplines
- Ensure adherence to technical quality standards; undertake Lead Verifier responsibilities when appropriate
- Resolve resource conflicts and capacity constraints, escalate to senior leadership as needed
- Support bids and proposals by coordinating technical staff and reviewing solutions and cost build-ups
- Drive client engagement activities to strengthen relationships and opportunities
- Develop and implement resource strategies, workforce planning, and training plans across disciplines
- Lead development of equipment, technology, and digital investments; monitor capacity and drive continuous improvement
- Monitor workload and risks, reporting to the ASSIST Director
- Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and technical excellence
Key requirements
- Significant experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams within survey and investigation disciplines or related sectors
- Demonstrable experience managing project delivery, technical quality, and resource planning
- Strong stakeholder management and collaborative leadership skills
- Experience supporting bids, proposals, and business growth activities
- Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve resource challenges across multiple projects
- Desirable: firsthand experience in survey and site investigation delivery
- Desirable: familiarity with digital innovation, technology investments, and operational improvement programmes
