Business Operations Engineer

Overview

In this role, you own and evolve the technical systems that power Product & Tech Business Operations, starting with Jira architectures, data pipelines, dashboards, and platform integrations. You’ll identify operational bottlenecks, design solutions, and work with the Business Operations Manager to scale capabilities. An AI-first mindset guides your decisions as you improve delivery tooling and automate workflows. You will connect internal products and ensure secure, compliant delivery while keeping operations reliable at scale. Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Jira architectures, data pipelines, dashboards, and integrations with enterprise platforms
• Standardise and redesign Jira and other data systems to support complex operations
• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines and dashboards for decision-making
• Explore AI agents and autonomous systems to streamline operations
• Connect and integrate internal products and platforms (e.g., Workday) and advise on build or integration choices
• Anticipate security, compliance, and regulatory constraints and unblock delivery
• Spot and fix data, process, or tooling issues early and iterate on operational tooling
• Collaborate with the Business Operations Manager to align with product & delivery enablement
• Communicate trade-offs, impact, and delivery paths clearly to stakeholders
• Share learnings openly and iterate on tooling continuously

Key requirements

• 3–5 years building and maintaining operational tooling with ownership of deliverables
• Strong Jira expertise (including JQL) and Confluence; experience configuring complex portfolio structures
• Experience with APIs/integrations, data exchange, SQL, basic scripting, BI tools, AI tools and automation
• Experience building data pipelines or automated workflows at scale
• Independent problem-solver who can scope solutions and drive delivery without prompting
• Comfort with data analysis, ambiguity, and scaling processes and systems
