Overview

In this principal role, you lead technically challenging contaminated land and groundwater projects, shaping strategies and decisions through expert modelling and risk assessment. You mentor colleagues, drive technical standards, and collaborate with clients and regulators. Based in the UK, you guide investigations, develop conceptual and numerical models, and ensure high-quality deliverables that support remediation and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead on complex projects across contaminated land, hydrogeology, and groundwater modelling
• Provide technical review and quality assurance
• Guide modelling strategy and support risk-based decision-making
• Design ground and hydrogeological investigations
• Develop, review and apply conceptual, analytical and numerical groundwater flow and contaminant transport models
• Prepare and review hydrogeological risk assessments and contaminated land reports
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to service development
• Travel to UK offices and project sites as required

Key requirements

• Significant experience in hydrogeology, contaminated land assessment, groundwater risk assessment and environmental consultancy
• Capability in conceptual site model development, groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling
• Experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports and communicating complex findings to clients, regulators and project teams
• Professional judgement for high-consequence work
