Senior Risk Manager – Energy Sector

Overview

In this role you will lead risk management for a high-profile nuclear infrastructure programme, driving identification, assessment and mitigation of risks across complex projects. You will collaborate with delivery teams and other controls disciplines to ensure risks are understood, managed, and communicated to enable on-time, on-cost, and quality outcomes. You’ll shape risk processes, facilitate expert workshops, and provide data-driven risk reporting to inform decision-making. Responsibilities

• Plan, design and tailor risk management processes to client needs
• Facilitate risk workshops with subject matter experts
• Create and maintain risk registers and information
• Improve risk data quality and robustness
• Drive mitigation actions across projects and programmes
• Develop measurable management responses for post-mitigation positions
• Conduct Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for cost and schedule impacts
• Demonstrate competency with tools such as Safran, @risk, PRA
• Produce timely risk reporting using PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Power BI
• Collaborate with other Project Controls disciplines to align information
• Engage with supply chain to understand and incorporate associated risks

Key requirements

• Professional risk management experience across project lifecycles
• Ability to adapt risk strategies to change and communicate complex risk to stakeholders
• Familiarity with risk tools (Safran, @risk, PRA)
• Strong communication, research and analytical skills
• Stakeholder management experience
• Experience in a Project Controls environment
• Willingness to work in the nuclear sector
• BPSS level security clearance (ability to obtain)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or related field desirable
• Membership of IRM or APM or similar (desirable)
• Experience with ISO31000, APM, Orange Book or MoR (desirable)
• Risk qualification such as APM Risk Certificate Level 2 or MoR (desirable)
