Field Offshore Engineer

Overview

As an Offshore Process Engineer, you will support SWRO and SRP membrane systems on an FPSO, optimizing performance and ensuring safe, compliant operation. You will work with onshore teams to implement improvements, troubleshoot issues, and lead preventive maintenance and system upgrades. This role offers hands-on technical leadership in a challenging offshore environment and the opportunity to shape membrane technology deployment at sea. You will drive performance, reliability, and safety in Veolia’s offshore water treatment solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site operational and technical support for SWRO and SRP systems on the FPSO
• Monitor, analyse, and optimise membrane plant performance for reliability and efficiency
• Troubleshoot water treatment process equipment and resolve technical issues
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for membrane systems
• Conduct membrane cleaning per guidelines or onshore MOCs
• Perform regular inspections and performance evaluations of treatment equipment
• Prepare technical reports with data analysis, trends, and improvement recommendations
• Collaborate with onshore teams to implement process improvements and new tech
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental standards, and policies
• Provide training and guidance to offshore personnel on operation and maintenance
• Participate in project planning for upgrades or maintenance regimes
• Contribute to development of technical support services to maintain competitive edge
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years offshore oil & gas ops experience, preferably on FPSO vessels
• Strong knowledge of SWRO and SRP water treatment systems
• Experience with membrane technologies in offshore environments
• Familiarity with process control, instrumentation, and data analysis tools
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in multicultural teams
• Willingness to work offshore with 4 weeks on/4 weeks off rotation
• Valid offshore safety and survival certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET)
• Proficiency in Google Suite and relevant engineering software
